Leigh's Spiritual Garden: Sweetness of Life

By Leigh Moran

“But he would feed you with the choicest foods. He would satisfy you with honey for the taking.” Psalms 81:16

I rejoice in the Lord for this day, as it has truly been a beautiful day. As I sat on our swing on our deck, I pervade the glorious blue sky, watched the very tall trees with their leaves turning in the atmospheric pressure, hopefully indicating a much needed rain, I am blessed!

Having gone through some trials lately and knowing more will come; I have arrived at a state of peace. My personality has tilted a bit off its energetic and hyper edge. My voice seems to be softer; I can be loud at times! My conversation is a tiny more subdued and again, I am blessed!

Our garden is a mass of beautiful gifts from God, Yellow Lilies, Happy Faced Daisies, Purple Cone flowers, White, Pink and Red Roses, so many flowers I cannot mention them all. They are glorious reminders of what Heaven is like, I know…endless beauty of God’s love. I am blessed.

Some days I lie on the hammock my daughter gave me and look up into the trees soaking in the scent, breeze, and sunshine of life. I never imagined so many ants, and of various sizes, could work so hard going up and down trees. Now these trees are very, very tall and where those little ants go, I do not know. I watch them come down the tree and under the hammock and never see anything in their mouths. They truly have their own society, and again, I am amazed at God’s creatures. I am blessed.

Before my granddaughter moved, just a week ago, we would go out into what we like to call the “farm area.” That is where we have a dilapidated eight-foot windmill, looking quite quaint. Out there are the Raspberry Bushes, and my, they are luscious! T likes to pick the berries and hand them to me as I put them in the colander. It is so much fun picking the berries and talking about “how much I love picking berries, Grammy.” I do miss that experience and since she did not move more than 2 hours away, I hope for more berry-picking time with her. I am blessed.

Over the past few weeks, I have had a very need to talk to God and again, call for His help. This was not so serious a talk, just one that if He answered me, would help. Needless to say, He did answer. However, first of all I had to ask, and then listen, then act, and then praise in Thanksgiving. I am blessed.

I had a terrible cough from my meds, it was late at night, and I was eating some chicken and had a biscuit with honey on it. Somehow, the honey seemed to soothe my throat. Well, I sat there eating four small packages of honey and my cough improved. So, I just had to find out if honey really could help an asthmatic cough. I looked it up and there is was; now I realize not everything on the internet is truthful. I was motivated, I am blessed.

This time, it seemed to be true. I really was struggling and this honey quieted my cough. Of course, I did go to the doctor the next day, as there were other issues. I am blessed.

What I am saying is that, repeatedly, when I ask God, talk to Him about my situations in life, and LISTEN, He answers.

In Psalms 81, verse 7 “He said, ‘You cried to me in trouble and I saved you.” Psalms 81 is a hymn of celebration about the Exodus from Egypt, please read all of Exodus this coming month/week and know how much God loves us that in spite of our crazy wonderings in our life He will deliver us from our burdens, if only we put Him first, talk to Him, love Him and LISTEN to Him.

“HE WOULD SATISFY YOU WITH HONEY FOR THE TAKING.”

Love and
I remain His humble servant,

Coyright Leigh Moran
